T Slot Vise
The slot in the vise measures.810 and the slot on the milling table is.675. I could probably make it, but right now, my problem is i'm doing good to find time to sleep. Also, my other problem is that I can't use the new vise that I have just gotten because it is the one that I need to make the slots for. All our 6' machine vises come standard with 5/8' T-slot alignment keys now. Want a different size? I often use Heinrich vises and would like to find a clamp or another hold down device that would allow quick locking and unlocking. Position the vise, lock it down to the table, drill a hole, unlock, move the vise, repeat. 2 large chip evacuation slots are strategically located on each side of the vise to allow a good flow of chips while at the same time not diminishing the vise’s body strength. The vise body is also reinforced with a thicker rib to support the pulling mechanism when clamping. Presumably for a T-Slot Vise since that’s what the Subject was (though if it were a vice, it would probably be illegal).
